The hectic fall art season in Canada is here, and we’ve compiled a list of our favourite shows.
1. “N. POLYGON GALLERY’S “VANCOUVER”
North Vancouver as well as its environs are the focus of the Polygon Gallery’s inaugural exhibition. The coastal hills on Vancouver’s northern tip are frequently featured in photographs. Vancouver’s status as one of the world’s most livable and scenic cities is bolstered by its rough, natural beauty.
2. FLOTILLA/FLOTILLA
The first transnational meeting focusing on itinerant and temporary components of modern artist-run art in Atlantic Canada will take place in Charlottetown from September 21 to 24. Along with the proceedings, there will be plenty of art to see.
3. AT REMAI MODERN, THE “FIELD GUIDE”
To say that the rebuilt Remai Modern will be a smash hit when it opens in October is an understatement. Since 2011, when plans were revealed to replace the old Mendel Art Gallery with a modern gallery aimed at catapulting Saskatoon, and the city’s art scene, onto the international art circuit, momentum has been building.
